Second Hand Dance Company (SHDC), also known as The Second Hand or 2nd Hand Dance, was a movement-based performance company from 1987-2003 blending dance, comedy, acrobatics audience participation and ingenious costumes and props. They company toured to approx. 35 countries in its history, performing on tv and stages, and gained a viewership of well over 2 billion* people. SHDC was based in Binghamton, NY.
The company operated as a non-hierarchical collaboration among the 3 founding members - Greg O'Brien, Andy Horowitz and Paul Gordon - with Paul serving also as business manager, overseeing agents and producers. The technical aspects of the shows was overseen by Aaron Copp, self-designated Technical Omnipresence; the principal stage managers on tour were Peter West and Joel Giguere. The company was represented by CAMI, USA and Daniela Titze for Europe, with a non-exclusive set of producers in other parts of the globe.
